Since the 2A peptide has evolved to enable single open-reading frames to be made as separate polypeptides at domain juncctions (?), and is easily identifiable by sequencing modeling, it would seem the inverse approach — identifying sequences enriched at domain junctions — might be fruitful in identifying novel peptides with emergent properties.
