Connect Kitra520 to AzureIoTHub

1.0 Requirements

  • Install all the tools of the Getting started guide
  • Install node-red-contrib-azureiothubnode from the palette of Node-red

2.0 Import the sample

Import the node-red example test_env_azure.json

Click on the "Azure IoT Hub" node and fill "Connection string" with the one of the device you created in the provisioning step.

You may also select one of the following protocols:

  • mqtt
  • amqp
  • http
  • amqpWs

3.0 Run the example

By Clicling "Deploy" the application will start sending sensor data to Azure every 2 seconds.

You can monitor the events from Device Explorer

iothub-explorer login <iot-hub-connection-string>
iothub-explorer monitor-events <device name> --login <iot-hub-connection-string>

We can also receive action, go to the Azure portal and select your device. Write"LEDON" on the message body field and press "Send message"

You will see the 4 leds on the Kitra board turning white. Doing the same with "LEDOFF" will turn them off.
