Releases: ryanmsartor/RGXX-Custom-MinUI-Paks
Version 12 (2025-02-02)
This is a minor update but has the potential to break a few things if you are updating from v11 or below. If you're happy with how things are running on your current setup, no need to install this.
If updating from an earlier version of this Pak Pack, you will want to change the (DS)
tag on your Nintendo DS Roms folder to (NDS)
instead. Please be aware as well that the new version of P8-NATIVE.pak expectss the Pico-8 binaries (pico8_dyn
and pico8.dat
) to be in Emus/rg35xxplus/P8-NATIVE.pak/bin
.
Changelog:
-
Renamed
DS.pak
toNDS.pak
in order to play better with the extra paks for other devices (particularly those made by tenlevels) so that users can use the NDS roms folder across multiple devices more easily. -
Added back (a new version of)
P8-NATIVE.pak
, for native Pico-8 capability, including Splore.- Splore is now launched from the game list instead of as a tool.
- Tap the power button while native Pico-8 is running, to close it and return to MinUI; this removes the possibility of getting stuck in Splore or the console and needing to hard reboot.
- Simpler setup for first time users.
Special thanks to Sundowner Sport for assistance with figuring out some Wi-Fi and Splore-related issues.

PAK PACK CONTENTS
I. Bonus emulators within MinUI
- DC.pak - adds stock's Flycast Xtreme RetroArch core for Dreamcast emulation.
- DS.pak - adds stock's DraStic standalone for Nintendo DS emulation.
- N64.pak - adds stock's Mupen64 Plus Next RetroArch core for Nintendo 64 emulation.
- PSPRA.pak - adds stock's PPSSPP RetroArch core for Playstation Portable emulation.
- PSPSA.pak - adds stock's PPSSPP standalone for Playstation Portable emulation.
- VARCADE.pak - adds stock's FBNEO pre-configured for vertical arcade emulation (only fully functional on RG28xx).
II. Tools to get more out of MinUI
- Reboot into Stock.pak (and REBOOT-INTO-MINUI.sh APP) - allow you to swap back and forth between MinUI and the stock or modified stock firmware without having to manually fiddle with files on your SD cards.
- Switch to Collections.pak (and Switch to Consoles.pak) - allow you to swap between the default console-based view in MinUI, and a view that puts your custom collections front and center. I've also included some example Collections files to give you some ideas of how to build them.
- eBook Reader.pak - allows you to read eBooks from any location on either SD card.
- File Browser.pak - allows you to navigate and sometimes modify or launch files and applications on either SD card.
- Music Player.pak - allows you to play audio files from the Music folder on either SD card.
- Retroarch.pak - launches Retroarch with no core/content loaded, so you can mess with settings.
- 2048.pak - that one game where you smush powers of 2 together. It's already there buried in the stock firmware... might as well make it accessible.
- Arcade Detailed View.pak - toggles the names of your VARCADE games from their simplified names, to their full descriptions with parenthetical information (such as version number or publisher), to their bare filenames, and back again. Note that this tool will change its name to whatever view it will set the arcade titles to.
