My setup used to replace my aging PDA

Our pool was built in 2007 and had a PDA-only Aqualink system. I've always been frustrated by the laggy behavior of the PDA, which often took multiple attempts to connect and would rarely work even when connected.

I was thinking about pulling the trigger on the iAqualink upgrade but I couldn't find one for less than about $1,400. Having a few Pi 4s around the house, I decided to dive into this in the hopes of avoiding that cost.

Ultimately I had to upgrade my control panel, as the one I had, Rev PDA PS6 8272, just would not respond to AqualinkD despite a lot of help from the devs here. I purchased a used Rev ALRS 6 P&S 8157 JJ panel for less than $120 off of eBay which works perfectly.

I mounted the Pi 4 in a weatherproof electronics box and used the existing 120v power available in the Aqualink RS box to power the Pi via a power converter board as seen here:

I mounted the box near the RS box and will be removing the old PDA antenna box now that I've got the AqualinkD software working and the system configured via the OneTouch simulator:

I'll probably add a 5v fan and thermostat board to one of the two vent ports on the sides of the electronic box since it gets very hot where I live, but the Pi is in a case with a fan already so it's probably OK.

I want to thank the devs for this amazing software. Saved me a ton of $$ and has a great UI. Would love to see it add login authentication at some point but I understand that's not a priority.

Added a thermostat controlled fan to the interior of the box.
