4. Comments: The public domain licenses used by NuttX RTOS have been grouped under the "NuttX-PublicDomain" license and assigned by the project a local SPDX identifier. For SBOM interoperability this identifier should be contributed to the SPDX License List.

@jlovejoy @swinslow - When I met with Alin, given the amount of this license in the wild in this popular RTOS, it should be a good candidate to have a license identifier assigned.

Hi @jerpelea - sorry for the slow response, we've gotten a bit behind and trying to address older stuff first!

So, what is the exact text you are using "NuttX-PublicDomain" for? Is there one specific text, or a collection of statements? If the latter, do you have those statements logged somewhere?

(this sounds a bit like something Fedora is doing, but want to make sure I understand first!)

Also, I don't see this id on the SPDX LIcense LIst, do I understand that the project "assigned" this id? Only the SPDX project can assign an SPDX id, but we do have the 'LicenseRef-' identifier

@jlovejoy sorry for missing your message
the project uses various files which have old Public domain statements.
All those files are marked by the project as "NuttX-PublicDomain" following the Fedora does

Best regards
Alin
