I would like to reduce the cost of running many kafka-connect clusters , did anyone already tried to run kafka-connect workers with graalvm ? thanks all :)

AFAIK, we do not support/test it within Strimzi, but I hope someone it already tried it? Maybe @strimzi/maintainers or @mimaison might know someone?

Also, I assume you know that, but when using native images, you would be limited to architectures (i.e., x86_64 or ARM).

I am not aware of anyone who tried it. Anyway we do not build native images of Strimzi so using it is not supported.

I think there are currently no plans to support any native code in Strimzi as it would cause nightmares with multiplatform support. Also - AFAIU - it does not allow adding plugins after build etc. If the question was meant as a general question, it should be probably raised in the Kafka mailing list - Kafka has its native images and there are users who might be better suited to comment on Connect and GraalVM.
