RF uses:
Bluetooth:

  • Pairing
  • Tamagotchi feeding, cleaning up poop, etc GATT
  • Blue tooth serial

I2C:

  • infect the egg plant

WIFI:

  • AP
  • STA_AP
  • STA

Designing bio quest with RF uses of other quest in mind. Looking at utilizing the following states:

I2C for shitty add-ons - infect condition by ID; eggplant SAO will specifically provide "carrier" functionality
Wifi AP or STA_AP (use hidden endpoints on the badge web server for the web server based quests)
BLE SPP - in conjunction with BLE for badgelife protocol, will focus on BLE versus BT implementations during general use
BLE GATT - During Tamgulotchi quests, will use GATT infections (Gulo: how about avian and swine flu? or that stuff you get from cat poop?)

Staged event - mass infections at timed intervals, either using RF or simply programmed into the badge to strike for any badge holders reaching XYZ quest state at specific infection time (this one could save on RF and include more people at once, making it ideal for a solid story line inclusion)

On BLE SPP uses - we could use this as an infection vector by having a "talking" rat at the table. Players could communicate via SPP with the rat to get hints - this might make a nice story element, too, as a good double cross story can always make use of talking rats - and the rat can roll the dice on sending an infection code.

If I get to my hidden challenge stuff, I may have a big poop on the table that could cause infections.

Here is my list of infections:
Add-on boards
Chlamydia (Curable) (50%) (GTATTAGTATTTG)
https://www.ebi.ac.uk/ena/data/view/JX548318
Herpes (recurring) (30%) (GATCGTTATTCCC)
https://www.ebi.ac.uk/ena/data/view/BD145142
Wifi
Influenza (Recurring) (12%) (AGTAGAAACAAGG)
https://www.ebi.ac.uk/ena/data/view/BD232397
Measles (Curable) (90%) (GTCAGTTCCACAT)
https://www.ebi.ac.uk/ena/data/view/MH308363
BLE syncing
Tetanus (Recurring) C.tetani E88 (50%) (GAGGTGCAGCTGG)
https://www.ebi.ac.uk/ena/data/view/BD062386
Polio (not really curable, but close enough) (13%) (ATTCTAACCATGG)
https://www.ebi.ac.uk/ena/data/view/FW310111
Tamgulotchi
Toxoplasmosis gondii (Recurring) (20%) (CCTAAACCCTGAA)
http://toxodb.org/cgi-bin/contigSrt?project_id=ToxoDB&ids=TGME49_chrVI&start=1&end=3656745&go=Get+Sequence
Plague (Curable) (50%) (AAGAGTATAATCG)
https://www.ebi.ac.uk/ena/data/view/MF740807

I will look up the genome structures of these over the next couple of days, so the list may change slightly based on what info I am able to find on them.

I've compiled a lot into a doc - I was hoping to have all wrapped up, but need to coordinate a little more. Here's the general idea, though, and what I'm working on finishing this week: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aF-mdZsVBdl1MqsReayJAiKmIwBlQsTG/view

I need to coordinate the quest contents with Gater, check on codes with GuloGulo, and offer the entire setup as a story line addition to the Story group (there is a lot of potential here, esp. with the Plague Event). I've also given the BHV organizer a heads up on the posters, and will be coordinating with her further as we get the design ironed out.

All NPC nodes wil be implemented using an ESP32 Huzzah dev board hooked either to the wall via USB, or to a battery. No extras, just a protective enclosure shoved into the appropriate plushie or sculpture. Gulo will be sporting the Plague Mask, and is our official Plague Doctor.

Read the doc....good stuff. We can discuss what can/should be done until Gourry and I get back from vacation. My guess is then we should hold an akin to a story workshop to ensure we get all the work covered. Love the idea, but we need to make sure we have enough engineering muscle to get it all done + all the other things we already have planned. Love it and willing to put in even more time to make it happen.
