Overview

The TT-WISMD develops and manages this repository, but the domain specific vocabularies under level 9 (earth-system-discipline-subcategory) will be determined by different teams familiar that the domain. This is a working document to provide clarity and guidance on how the Level 9+ vocabularies will be developed and approved.

Update workflow

1. Level 9+ domain specific vocabularies are developed outside this GitHub repository in whatever manner that team desires. It could be a word document, spreadsheet, or in a separate GitHub repository. If GitHub is the resource, then it is recommended to fork this repository as it will enable the domain specific groups to be consistent with the approaches in place and stay up to date with other modifications.
2. When the domain specific group is ready to ask TT-WISMD to include the vocabularies, they may create an issue or update an existing issue with a request to add the vocabularies (see <>).
3. The TT-WISMD will review the proposal, curate the content in branches of this repository in preparation for publication. The branch in this repository may be updated with the new vocabularies by hand or with a pull request from the forked repository.
4. Approval of the codes will go through the WMO fast-track procedure which occurs 2x year. <>
