I installed per the instructions but there is no overlay and it doesn't appear to be working. Is it because reshade is also installed?

I just tried ReShade and it seems to be working just fine. Could you please provide some more details for your setup?

Such as:

ReShade version and a screenshot of your game installation directory, like so:

As for the overlay, it's really just a status display. Configuration is done by editing interp-mod.ini outside the game using notepad. You can edit/save the ini file while the game is running and have the changes reflected in game.

Cheers and regards.

Also unfortunately cannot get it to work for Mega Man X Legacy Collection. I'm not using Reshade, so my folder is just the vanilla one with the slang-shaders, dinput8.dll and interp-mod.ini files added in. If I launch the game through the .exe the overlay does show briefly but then the game instantly crashes to desktop. If I launch through Steam it doesn't crash but also does not appear at all. It will however crash and give me an error sometimes if I try to switch from fullscreen to windowed mode.

Hey I'm not the developer, but commenting to say that I think you could probably just use retroarch with the windowcast core and apply shaders that way

So I ended up trying the Windowcast today.. and the mod started working lol. I don't know why, I basically gave up trying to get it to work last night and haven't touched the settings at all but somehow it just works now.

Was it crashing with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED error? I hit this error sometimes but can't reproduce it reliably. Google search shows it apparently happens with the game vanilla as well. Otherwise I don't know what is going on.

When it crashes that was the error it would give. Normally (through Steam) it would just not load the mod however. The crashing would happen launching the .exe directly or if I tried changing between fullscreen and windowed mode.

Are you comfortable with editing the registry for testing?

Try increasing TdrDelay to 5 and see if it still crash:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/display/tdr-registry-keys

Reg file:
TdrDelay.zip

Are you on an Intel GPU by any chance?

The registry edit change seems to have worked, it no longer crashes changing from fullscreen to windowed or vise versa. It still crashes when trying to launch RXC1.exe manually however. It also seems to have stopped another minor issue I was having where the game wouldn't let me tab out unless I used a separate desktop (or it just stopped happening by cooincidence.)

I'm on an RTX 4080 and i7-13700K.
